Yingzi Guo (Vesper) works primarily in video, net art, and interactive installation. She explores interface as a linguistic mechanism that permeates our perception, body, and memory, which is continually reshaping and being reshaped through our engagement with it.

Her practice centers on an ongoing investigation of the triadic dynamics of viewing within mediated environments, where roles of spectator, actor, and director are simultaneous and shifting. These roles are not fixed identities but relational functions modulated by the conditions of interface, which could be light, scale, visibility, framing, or knowledge asymmetry. Often through counterintuitive interfaces and asemic gestures in linguistic forms, her work stages situations where these three functions become unstable, letting the mechanism of watching turns back on itself.

Vesper holds a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2020) and an MPS from NYU's ITP program (2023).
